The Plunge

The Plunge is back for its 9th consecutive year. On Sat, Feb 27, 2021, Haywood Waterways Association and the Town of Canton are hosting the annual “Plunge Benefit-t-t-ting Kids in the Creek & Environmental Education”. Though it will be different due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains a community event, bringing together public officials, schools, businesses, churches, and many others to support kids and clean water.

The event will be from 10 am until 4 pm at the Champion Credit Union Aquatic Center (77 Penland St). The cost is $25 or free by raising sponsorships ($10 under 18); 100% of the proceeds benefit the Haywood Waterways’s Kids in the Creek and environmental education programs.

Hillbilly Jam Winter Meet & Greet Party 2021

Cautiously, events are being planned with Hillbilly Jam holding their winter party on Feb 25 – 27 at the Rendevous Restaurant (70 Soco Rd, Maggie Valley) – perfectly timed to help get through the winter blues! This Meet & Greet event will feature Karaoke at 5 pm on Friday, Saturday festivities will be held at Elevated Mountain Distillery 1 – 5 pm ($3/person), then back to the Rendevous for Carolina Kin Band. All proceeds will go to Paws Animal Shelter in Bryson City.
